String Art!

  1. Have in mind what design you want to achieve (whether it be a love heart, a bird, a butterfly – whatever you want!)
  2. Using a pencil and a ruler, mark your design with dots that are evenly spaced (perhaps 1cm apart)
  3. Grab your hammer and nail and hammer in one nail into each hole you have drawn. If you have adult supervision, it might help to pre-drill the holes to make it a bit easier!
  4. Grabbing your yarn, wrap the yarn around each nail and go from one nail to another (sort of like connect the dots!) to create a bright and colourful design. You can change colours midway through to make it a bit different! It can be good to wrap the yarn around each nail twice to make sure the design is vibrant and stands out!

What You Need:

  • Yarn in different colours
  • A piece of wooden board
  • A ruler
  • Pencil
  • Hammer
  • Nails
  • A drill
