How we protect your information
At WhitebaitMedia, we are committed to protecting the privacy of tamariki who use our digital platforms, including our websites. We respect your right as a parent to understand what types of personal information and content we may collect from tamariki, the ways which we may use that information and content, and where the information and content may be displayed.
We think it’s important for you to read What Now’s Privacy Policy for details on our practices and your choices as a parent. We’ve created a safe, digital platform for your tamariki so they can enjoy all that online experiences have to offer, and encourage you to understand how they’ll be using our website. Have questions or suggestions? Email us at hi@whatnow.tv — we’d love to hear from you.
For more tips about protecting children’s online privacy, please visit the NZ Netsafe Website.
We take your information and privacy seriously: we only collect, store or share your personal information or data with your prior consent. That’s our privacy policy in a nutshell.
This website requires the input of any data from users when you register for the House of Funge and it uses an account system to identify users.
At no point will we rent or sell your personal information without your consent.
Children can register to the House of Funge to view content, play games, participate in competitions, take part in the Chat Page and engage in special features, among other things. During the registration process, we may ask the child to provide certain information for both competition entry, content submission and security purposes. We don’t ask children to provide more information than is reasonably necessary in order to use our website.
We will ask for the permission of, and email belonging to, the parent or guardian of any child under age 13 before we collect any personal information from the child.
What Now reserves the right to use any images uploaded, any comments added, and any information added into the website that may, and can be used at any time online on Social Media, the Website and on the TV show at any point during the longevity of the programme. You cannot withdraw your images and/or content, once uploaded to the website.
Many competitions and activities on our website allow children to create or and upload content onto the website. This is how our wonderful TV show is created: with the creative input of tamariki at home. We encourage you to check any content that is uploaded by your child to our website before it is submitted.
What Now may use the information that you provide to inform you of new developments via email. If you prefer not to receive these emails, please click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any What Now email you receive.
We take safety, security and your privacy extremely seriously. If you are aware of any problems with our website or have any further concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
At WhitebaitMedia, we created the What Now website as a safe platform for your tamariki to engage with when on devices. We encourage them to spend time here exploring the world of What Now further, rather than using social media as the main point of communication. However, we do use social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and YouTube) to promote both our live Sunday show, and our website, “the House of Funge”.
We like to be open and transparent about our use of digital platforms, and why we’re on them. Have questions or suggestions? Email us at hi@whatnow.tv — we’d love to hear from you.
Our House of Funge Chat Page allows users to communicate with other users by means of a chat system: this is a ‘wall’ of conversation, never 1:1 conversation, and is accessible to those who are registered as House of Funge members. In all cases, this chat system:
employs filters that prevent the communication of both personal information and age-inappropriate words and phrases, and,
every comment is checked first by one of our team members.
Our platform is a safe, happy platform for tamariki to engage with each other through a filtered process: when first approaching the Chat Page, we recommend that parents participate with their tamariki, so that everyone understands how the Chat Page works.
